We hope that you and your family are in good health in these difficult times. We thank you for being our patient and allowing us to provide your eye care.

Our office follows the new infection control guidelines adopted in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Rhode Island Department of Health. We follow the activities of these agencies closely to make sure our infection control procedures are up to date. Some of the changes we continue to follow are:

  • Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask you screening questions and have you reschedule if you are not feeling well or have been exposed to anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days. Also, staff will be told to stay home if they are not feeling well.
  • Call the office (401-738-0606) from your car when you arrive at the building. You will again be asked screening questions concerning COVID-19. To limit contact between patients, you may be instructed to wait in your car and will be called when we are ready to see you.
  • Leave all personal belongings in your car other than insurance information and materials used for payment.
  • All staff will wear masks, and patients are expected to do so as well. Patients who arrive without a mask will be given one to wear.
  • You can use hand sanitizer when you enter the office. It will be located in several locations and can be used as often as you feel necessary.
  • We will not have magazines in the waiting room since they are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • We will do our best to minimize your waiting time in the office as well as the number of patients in the office at one time. The latter can be accomplished in part by asking patients to not have friends and family members accompany them into the office unless it is absolutely necessary.
  • Only one person will be allowed in the optical area at a time.
  • Curbside pickup of glasses will be offered, and contact lenses can be directly shipped to your home.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and every patient safe in our practice. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
